Volunteer Opportunites

What will I be doing as a volunteer?

Applicants’ interests and schedules are matched with the needs of the various departmental requests for help. We accept applications for Harris Regional Hospital and Swain County Hospital, as well as hospice, and the thrift shops in Jackson and Swain counties.
Please direct all volunteer inquiries to Krysta Cooper at 828-631-8893.

Volunteer Opportunities

WestCare values and appreciates those who wish to volunteer, and provides opportunities for volunteering in various areas at both Harris Regional Hospital and Swain County Hospital.

Volunteers may be staffed within hospital departments, such as registration, social services, ambulatory services, emergency department, and more. Volunteers are staffed according to departmental need, and duties are not clinical.

Volunteers are needed for office work, the Lifeline Program, and to support patients and family members in the hospice program.
